September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation — a time to remember the children who never returned home and to honour the Survivors of residential schools, as well as their families and communities.
At Abbeyfield Canada, our mission is to create safe, inclusive, and supportive homes for seniors. On this day, we reflect on how we can continue to foster reconciliation through respect, compassion, and meaningful relationships across generations.
We encourage our communities to wear orange, take time to learn about the history and ongoing impacts of residential schools, and engage in conversations that support healing and reconciliation.
