Janis has served on the Abbeyfield Houses Society of Toronto (Scarborough Bluffs) board since 2010 and has taken on the roles of Operations Manager, Director of Admissions, Fundraising, Resident Support, and Volunteer Visitor. She has directly assisted House Coordinators with management and administration. While she retired from the board in 2022, Janis is still a regular visitor to the House.
